Willa Mae (Smith) Roberts was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on June 28, 1923 to the parents of Arthur Lee Smith and Lillie Mae (Palmer) Smith. Willa moved to Kansas City at the early age of six months old. Willa held several jobs in Kansas City, such as, her own Day Care, Human Resources for The City of Kansas City, a cook in the church, and a mentor to many children throughout Kansas City area. Willa was affectionately known as “Biddy” to many but known as Grandma to her family.
Willa accepted Christ at a very young age and held on tight to His unchanging hand. She was a member of Paradise Missionary Baptist Church for over fifty plus years. She served on the Mother Board until she became ill. Willa was a loving woman and touched everyone that crossed her path. She instilled the importance of serving and loving the Lord into us all. Willa departed her earthly life with her loving family surrounding her on July 8, 2020.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Smith, father, Arthur Smith, four sons, Harold Teen, Arthur Lee, Terry O’Neil, and Tyrone Ronard, one daughter Constance Janette, nine brothers, three sisters, four eternal grandchildren and one great grandchild. II Corinthians 5:8 – “To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord” Willa Mae leaves to cherish her beautiful memories: two sons, Kenneth Earl (Joyce) Roberts, Clarence Lavon Roberts; one Godson, Joel Anthony Brown; six daughters, Bertha Mae Tindall, Katherine Roberts, Alexis Mae Jones, Delisa Ann Roberts, Reva Regina Roberts, Debra Denise Lindsay (Vincent); and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
