G-Mama as she was affectionately called home to the Lord on July 14, 2020. God in his divine has required his servant Thea Kimberlee Newsome to be brought from labor to reward at approximately 6:15am her only daughter Kadijh, who was right by her side. She was a devoted Christian and would frequently attend United Believers Community Church under Darron LaMonte Edwards' s feadership. She was drawn to his ability to not only engage with his congregation but also the way the word was delivered. She had been baptized earlier in her life and she had given her life to Christ. One of her last wishes was to be baptized once again prior her receiving her wings. This wish was granted only hours prior to her departure back into God's arms. Thea was educated in the Portland Public Schools, she attended Grant High School and received her diploma from Job Corp. with a certification in medical decodfng.
A major highlight in her career is when she became vice mayor for her community in Georgia. She had a passion for working with others, often volunteered and served various roles on the community neighborhood board in Germany. She also received her Associates degree in Medical Administration from Concord & Wright Business School. She worked for the J.A.G office and other military jobs while being married to SFC Eddie Lee Newsome (Deceased) of the United States Army. Thea had countless friends and family throughout the world. She was a devoted military wife who lived and traveled. She has lived m places like Germany, California, France, Georgia, Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas, many other places and duty stations.
She loved to make people smile, laugh and would give anyone the shirt off her back. She was respected and loved by so many people. Thea was well loved by her family, church and her community very much. She leaves to cherish her memories; to her mother of 63 years Darlene Yvonne Easley, her only sister Dana Easley, her eldest brother Kevin Easley; her beloved four children, the eldest Kadijh Cooper aka KK, Gionet Cooper aka G-Man, Obinna Eze’ aka Twin and the baby of the family Uchenna Faumunia-Eze’ aka Big Twin, and her fouth and fifth honorable sons Anthony James and LeVar Turner, her oldest granddaughter Jasmine, Peninatautele aka Nina Bunny, Brian her eldest grandson, Adrianna, Jannae’ Leigh, Keanna aka Baby Key, A’arriana, Sameemah her youngest granddaughter Tuaialugmeaaiasiumu aka Mona Monroe niece Jasmine aka Jazz, nephew Tigi aka Mr. T. She was also loved by The Newsome family Angie, Pasty, Rock, and Willie Ann. She leaves behind two daughters in law Taui aka Jane and Aledia. The Harmon family and her two favorite Uncles Mike and Butchie have been a paramount fixture in Tiki’s life since birth. Her brother Damon Easley, grandfather Morris Harmon and her father William H. Easley precede her in death. I have to mention several people that were intricate in her life, please forgive me if I forget to mention your name its not intentional. All names and acts of kindness that don’t appear here are with Thea throughout eternity; Celestine Champman aka CC, Josh, Jeremy, Aundria, Grace, Carmen, Carla A, Susan, Suzette, Carol F, Sandra, Michael aka Dreads, Ronnette, Kristen, Deloris, Loris, Eryka, Tommy H aka Tom Gat, Ryan aka Flo, Cliff aka C-Puppy, Cruz, Dennis, Fatima, Tyrone, Valerie H, Marquill, Tennille, Xavier, Michele Z, Vonita, Angelia, James, Doris, Aaron, Charles, Taha, Michael Brass, Annette W., Lonnie, Nikki, and all our friends throughout the world. Our extended KU Oncologist family, Dr. Marshall & family and also the Kansas City Hospice Care Team. We would also like to thank The United States Army and our Richard Gubauer Commissary family.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 1st at Lawrence A. Jones Linwood Chapel. Interment 1:30 P.M. at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Monday, August 3, 2020
