Shirley Diane Williams, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and life-long resident of Kansas City, MO was born on June 5, 1954. She was the first of two children born to Roosevelt and Lois Palmer.
Shirley gave her life to Christ at an early age under the leadership of Reverend M.E. Ford at Mount Zion Baptist Church. She graduated from Central high school and went on to host a number of jobs in the hospitality industry. However, her number one job was always serving and protecting her family.
On January 28, 1977 she married Waymon Williams Sr. and to this union of forty three (43) years, five children were born. Shirley enjoyed sewing, reading, crossword puzzles, and entertaining, to name a few. She is best known for her kind spirit and willingness to help others.
On October 29, 2020 at the age of 66 she went home to Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her father, Roosevelt Palmer.
Shirley is survived by her mother, Lois Palmer; her husband, Waymon Williams Sr.; her sister, Betty Asberry; her children, LaVonda Bermudez (Eddie), Waymon Williams Jr., Ronnell Williams (Felicia), Daniel Williams, Marlon Williams; fifteen (15) grandchildren and many others who loved her and will mourn her passing.
Private funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Mount Calvary Church of God in Christ 2422 Van Brunt Boulevard Kansas City, MO 64127. Due to COVID-19 the service is private and invitation only. Those who were not invited to the in-person private service are welcome to attend the service online at www.MSTCsunset.com.
