Roslyn Renee Jenkins began her life journey on May 25,1961 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born to the union of Albert Grant Jr. and Earnestine Surratt. She was also affectionately known as “Roz”. Roslyn had a sweet spirit and loving heart. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a social butterfly, but also enjoyed calm and relaxing moments. Roslyn accepted Christ into her life and was baptized at an early age. She attended Progressive Missionary Baptist Church for her early discipleship.
She later joined Gladstone Baptist Church, in North Kansas City, where she was a member for several years. Roslyn attended Frances Willard Elementary School. She graduated from Lillis Catholic School, class of 1979. After high school, she attended trade school specializing in hospitality services. Roz was a dedicated worker.
She was employed with The Westin Crown Center for approximately 20 years. She worked at the Federal Reserve Bank for several years. Later in her career she was a diligent employee at Missouri Gas Energy, where she retired after 16 years of service. Roslyn was currently employed at the Community Blood Center of Kansas City. Roz brighten the day of every person she encountered. Roslyn raised her loving daughter, LaKeshia Renee Earnestine Jenkins. They had a special mother daughter bond. Roz also had a special connection with her nieces and nephews. Roz devoted much of her time to family. Roslyn ended her journey on May 13, 2020. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, Tanya Bass (sister), Kenneth Robinson (brother), Kenneth Grant (brother), Thurman Lacy III (nephew).
To cherish her memory, she leaves one daughter, LaKeshia Renee Earnestine Jenkins of Kansas City, MO. Her special sisters Sheila Grant of Lee’s Summit, MO; Jane Marie Lacy of Kansas City, MO; Dorothy Holmes-Jones of Kansas City, MO. Loving boyfriend Darrell M. Everage of Kansas City, MO. Roslyn leaves a host of special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends that loved her very much.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 P.M on Saturday May 23 at Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Linwood Chapel. Visitation 11:00 A.M. Private Disposition.
