Ms. Vera D. Johnson

Vera Denise Johnson, 54, was born on June 16, 1968 to the union of Robert Lee Johnson, Sr. and Ophelia (Reed) Johnson in Kansas City, Missouri. She was considered a gift to her father, because she was born on Father's Day. She was preceded in death by her parents and paternal and maternal grandparents.

Vera was a lifelong area resident and attended the Kansas City Missouri Public Schools and was a graduate of Paseo High School.  She furthered her education and became a CNA working in various hospitals for over 15 years.

Vera was affectionately known as Niece by her family and friends. She loved fishing, cooking and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. She was a loving mother, sieter, grandmother and aunt who was very family oriented. 

She departed this life on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at the North Kansas City Hospital.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Rodney Johnson (Briana) and William Carter (Stacy) Kansas City, MO; brother, Robert Johnson, Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Nevaeh Johnson, Caterion Carter, Ny'Aysha Carter, Rodney Johnson, Lyric Carter and William Carter, Jr.;nephew, Robert Johnson;  nieces, Twyla Washington and Shalise Cubie, a host of cousins other family members and friends that she cherished dearly.

Funeral services Saturday, April 29, 2023, 10:30am at Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral chapel. Interment Blue Ridge Lawn Cem. Visitation 9:30am-10:30am at the chapel. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
