Rubie Algene (Morton) Clinton was born Aug 11, 1934 to Milford D. and Willetta H. (Bryant) Walker. Rubie passed away October 03, 2021, at Truman Medical Center. She is proceeded in death by her parents, two sisters Ollie Johnson and Mary McKay, one adopted sister Beulah Washington, three brothers Marvin, George, and William Morton, three sons Michael Jones, Douglas Clinton, and David Tuggle, one granddaughter Suzanne Harris, one grandson Rueben Clinton, and two great grandsons Jaleen Jones and Arthur Taylor.
She attended WW Yates, Attucks, Dunbar Elementary and R. T. Coles High school. She completed training in the State of Missouri earning a certificate for the Foster Grandparent Program.
Rubie worked 51 years in the Kansas City community before retiring in 1996 from Truman Medical Center Housekeeping Department, serving as a union steward.
Rubie accepted Christ at an early age and sang relentlessly along with her siblings in a gospel quartet group formed by her mother. She was a member for over 50 years at Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ where she served faithfully on the Mother Board and the Senior Adult Group until her passing.
She was a devoted mother and loving grand, great grand and great-great grandmother. She loved family gatherings especially playing dominos and Pokeno. She will be greatly missed.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons Billie (Tanya) Clinton and Tyrone Clinton both of the city. Eight daughters Jonita (Robert) Stevenson of the city, Shirley (Floyd) Marshall of Graham Washington, Debra Porter of Woodbridge Virginia, Patricia Smith, Annette (Reginald) Johnson, Denise Clinton, Barbara Clinton, and Veronica Tuggle-Hall all of Kansas City, MO; two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, 36 Grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held next Monday, October 18, 2021,11:00am at Corinthian Baptist Church. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the church. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
