Rosetta Reeves Harris (Walter) Clark (Ervin)
Rosetta Reeves Clark was born December 25, 1945 in Augusta, Arkansas to Catherine Jones Alexander and Eugene Reeves. She was the second of 3 daughters. She was preceded in death by both parents, husband- Ervin Clark, and son- Walter Harris, Jr. preceded her in death.
She gave her life to Christ at at early age. She attended St. Luke’s Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Edward Liggins. Rosetta graduated from Carver High School in Augusta, Arkansas. She later moved to St. Louis, MO and attended Anthony’s Cosmetology School. Soon thereafter, she was united in holy matrimony to Walter Leroy Harris, Sr. To their union one son, Walter Leroy Harris, Jr. was born. The marriage was later dissolved.
Rosetta and Walter Jr. later moved to Jonesboro, Arkansas where she worked as a childcare provider at Headstart. In 1972 Rosetta married Ervin Clark and the couple enjoyed 34 years of marriage before his death.
In the early 2000’s Rosetta moved to Kansas City, Mo. Rosetta was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a kind but outspoken, fun loving, and sassy person who loved to dress up and have a good time. She was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church in Grandview, Mo. She was known to everyone lovingly as “Snook.”
She departed this life on April 23, 2021 in Kansas City, Mo.
She leaves to cherish two grandchildren, Christopher Harris and Kiearra Harris Taylor (Will) of Jonesboro, AK; three great-grandchildren, Kaaliyah, Tamryn, Genesis; two sisters, Irma Hamm, of St. Louis, MO and Annie Cunningham of Kansas City, MO; Seven aunts, Geneva Greenfield (Lloyd), Emma and Barbara Barnes of Kansas City, MO; Marie Neal and Myrie Frye of Los Angeles, CA; Neotrise Johnson and Poniace Page of Kansas City, MO; play daughter, Tammy Wimbush of Kansas City, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 5, 2021, 11:00am at Mt. Calvary COGIC. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00am-11:00am at the church. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may shared on our website. Due to COVID-19, social distancing and face coverings are required.
