Patricia Elaine Spencer, loving daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend to many, entered this earthly place on September 21, 1957 in Kansas City, MO and received her wings and transitioned on Friday, April 30, 2021 in Grandview, MO with her family surrounding her.
She was educated in the Kansas City MO Public School System and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1975 and was Class President. She went on to attend Baker University in Baldwin, Kansas graduating with a B.S. degree in Business Administration in 1980. Patricia was initiated in 1977 as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Delta Upsilon Chapter. Patricia was also a charter member of Xi Tau Omega graduate chapter and served in several offices.
Patricia was a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Patricia was a life long member of Paseo Baptist Church. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by Dr. Charles J. Briscoe. She was an active and faithful member until her health failed and she was no longer able to attend regularly.
Patricia began her career as a Finance Professional at United Telephone System - Midwest Group which later became Sprint. Patricia took an early retirement after 29 years due to a reduction in workforce. She later was employed at Black and Veatch until her health failed and she was forced to retire.
Patricia was preceded in death by her nephew Derek Dupree, brother Fred Spencer Jr., step-father Byron Dixon and father Herschel McDaniel. She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life her mother, Catherine Dixon; sister Judi Dupree; brothers Marvin Spencer and Craig Spencer (Tina). Nieces and nephews; Corey Spencer, Danielle Spencer, Lisa Dupree, Angela Spencer, Jasmine Spencer, Amber Kerns, Jazmin Spencer, Craig Spencer Jr and Jade Spencer. Friends who became family; Larry Johnson and Sarita Hunter. God children Jarrell King and LaShonda McGary. Several great nieces and nephews; other relatives, friends and sorority sisters. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 10, 2021, 11:00am at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 9am-11am at the chapel. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website. Due to COVID-19, social distancing and face coverings are required indoors. Temperature checks all for guest(s).
