Obituary

Mary Margaret Watson, 96, was born on November 21, 1925 to the union of Cecil Brown and Barnabel (Poston) Brown in Fulton, Missouri. Her parents and one sister preceded her in death.

Mary was educated in the public schools of Fulton, Missouri and graduated from Lincoln University Laboratory High School in Jefferson City, Missouri. After graduation from high school she went to live with her uncle, Henry Cornell Poston, Pastor of Eighth Street Christian Church in Kansas City, Kansas. She enrolled in Kansas City, Kansas Jr. College and graduated in 1945.

Mary was united in marriage to Robert W. Watson in 1947 and two children were born to this union. She retired from Western Electric, later renamed A T & T in Lee's Summit in 1985. She was a faithful member of Central Christian Church and served on the Usher Board, Sunday School and Christian Women's Fellowship. She loved Sunday School, CWF, bowling and bingo.

Mary departed this life on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at the home.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Robert W. Watson, Jr. (Debra), Los Angeles, CA; daughter, Barbara J. Lee (Eugene), Kansas City, MO; one brother, Thomas Brown (Lonita), Fulton, MO; two sisters, Ida Nevins and Marcella Robinson, Fulton, MO; five grandchildren, Robert III, Dana, Brandy, Kamilah and Adria; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, a host of nephews, nieces other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 1, 2022, 10:00am at Central Christian 3801 E. Linwood Blvd. KCMO. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery, LVNKS. Visitation will be from 9am-10am at the church. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
