Corinne Hawkins was born February 14, 1925 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to the union of Minnie and Lee Jeffries. She passed away on June 6, 2022. She was the oldest of five children born to this union. Her mother, father and three sisters preceded her in death.
Corinne was married to Odis Hawkins, who also preceded her in death in 1995.
Corinne moved to Wichita, Kansas early in life and was employed by the State of Kansas. She moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1965. She was employed by the State of Missouri until she retired.
Corinne was a member of Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served in the Senior Women Missionary Union and Prayer Band.
Corinne leaves to cherish the memory of her home going: daughter, Norma Edwards; son, Terrance Hamilton; a devoted grandson, Anthony Edwards all of Kansas City; a devoted nephew, Leonard Jeffries (Deborah) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a loving brother, James Jeffries (Hattie) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A Graveside Service will be held June 23, 2022, 12:30 pm at Leavenworth National Cemetery, LVNKS. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
