Obituary

Beverly June Workcuff departed this life on June 20, 2022.  She was born on July 27, 1936 in Odessa, Missouri to Isadore Washington and Irene Barner.

Beverly attended William T. Vernon Elementary in Odessa, Missouri and Douglas High School in Lexington, Missouri.

Beverly was preceded in death by both parents, son, Tracy Workcuff, sisters, Thelma Johnson, Bessie Mae Brown, brother, Frank Barner, stepmother, Francis Washington and stepsister, Ernestine (Toto) Barner.

Beverly accepted Christ at a young age.  A lifelong member of St. James AME Church Odessa, Missouri where she served faithfully and diligently until the closing of the church.  She represented St. James AME for many years at the yearly AME Conference in Kansas City, Missouri.  She was an active member and treasurer of the Odessan Club. 

Beverly worked for the IRS and retired with ______ years of service.

Beverly loved spending time with her family and friends at gatherings whether it be a holiday or playing cards with her friends.  She enjoyed going on vacations with her daughter.  You knew not to call when she was with her DA Holmes family that brought her much joy while playing spades, bidwiz or calling Bingo.

Beverly leaves to cherish her memory:  daughter, Marian N. Workcuff of Kansas City; grandchildren, Micheal and Anna Nuley of Kansas City; grand dog, Rocco; her favorite niece, Andrea Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Service will be held on Sat, July 2, 2022, at 11:00 am at St John Missionary Baptist Church 5906 Kenwood KCMO. Visit 9 am-11am at the church.. Interment: Odessa Cemetery, Odessa, MO. Services conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel.
