Ms. Bettie L. Conley

Obituary

Bettie Louise Conley, 90, passed away on September 29, 2021 at home in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on July 11, 1931 in Columbia Missouri to (father) Alfred (mother) Lorraine (maiden name) Whittler (parent’s last name) Jackson.

Bettie grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Manuel High School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1949. After high school she attended KC Medical Center trade school in Kansas City, Missouri where she received her certification in the medical field. She began working for the Social Security Administration as a Verification Expert where she worked for 25 years until she retired in 1992 after 25 years of service.

Bettie married James Conley in 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri. They were happily married for 44 years.

Bettie enjoyed reading, her daytime soap operas, cooking, baking and hosting the annual family Christmas dinner.

Bettie was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Lorraine Jackson, her husband James Conley, sister Beulah (Sylvester), brothers Alfred Jr, Russell (Juanita) of Kansas City, Missouri.

Bettie leaves to cherish her memory; a daughter Lynda Conley; her grandchildren LaShon Andrews, Stacey Shackelford; great grandchild Khloe Shackelford, her nieces Yvonne Cheffen, Gwendolyn Green, nephew Ronnell Green and more nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021, 11:00am at Mt. Calvary COGIC. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the church. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
