Alena Higgins was born October 11, 1934 in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Lee Edgar Williams and Dora Campbell.
Alena moved to Kansas City, Missouri with her husband James Lee Higgins in 1950.
Alena was a member of the Church Of God In Christ in Kansas City, Missouri and she accepted Christ at an early age.
Alena Higgins departed this life on Monday, January 10, 2022. Preceding her in death were her parents, Lee Edgar Williams and Dora Campbell, ten siblings, Leo Williams, Edith Lee Drew, Almaree Drew, Otha James Williams, Lee Edgar, Jr., Carl A. Williams, Roy G. Williams, Earnestine Mack, Matthew Williams, Nathaniel Williams and two children, Annita Jean Higgins-Woods and Tommy Higgins.
Alena worked at Trinity Lutheran Hospital for many years where she was truly loved and favored by her superiors and co-workers.
Alena leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Dale W. Higgins and Otha J. Higgins, five daughters, Zelda F. Higgins (Jackson), Zenell K. Higgins (Galbreath), Marian A. Higgins, Michele Higgins (Birdwell) and Drenna R. Higgins; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; some great great grandchildren; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, neighborhood family, church family and friends.
Now Alena Higgins leaves to cherish her life with Annita Higgins Woods, Tommy Higgins, her sisters and brothers – What a joyful gathering.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 21, 2022, 11:00am at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the chapel. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
