Obituary

Omega Scott Lee was born on May 23, 1956 to the union of Edgar and Evelyn Mae Lee.  Omega was the 14th and last child born to this union.

He was born in South Park, Kansas, now known as Merriam, Kansas.

He attended South Park Elementary School, Hocker Grove Middle School and Shawnee Mission Northwest High School.  In high school one of his friends bragged about Omega being one of the best pole vaulters at the school.

Omega worked for Acme Brake Bonding Company for a while and then, was employed with the Kansas City Gas Service Company for over 20 years as a meter reader and a service technician.

Later in life he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at Riverview Baptist Church in Desoto, Kansas.

One of his favorite past-times was barbequing and smoking meat on the grill, the family called him a professional cook, he could cook anything which he learned from his mother.  He also loved gardening, planting vegetables along with entertaining his family and friends on a regular basis.  He also loved buying old cars and trucks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar R. Lee Sr., and Evelyn Mae Price-Lee; sister, Gwendolyn Lee; brothers, Joy-Ying Lee, Robert E. Lee, Davy E. Lee Sr., Charles L. Lee Sr., and Iran B. lee.

Omega departed this life on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Shawnee Mission Hospital.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories his siblings:  brothers: Edgar R. Lee, Jr. of Kansas City, Kansas, Gelhaar Lee (Debra) of St. Louis, Missouri, Vondorse Lee (Josephine) of Kansas City, Missouri and Guatama V. Lee (Charlene) of Smyrna, Delaware; sisters: Su-Sing Allen (Ellis), Barbara Clay and Iola Diamond of Kansas City, Missouri; along with a host of nieces and nephews whom he had a close relationship with and loved very much, along with his “Besties” Linda and Brenda Locke and Thomas (Tee) Chandler.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022, 11:00am at Mt. Calvary COGIC. Private Disposition. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the church. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
