Lee Dale Rogers Jr. celebrated his homecoming early Friday morning April 23, 2021, after a well fought battle with Stage 4 Lung Cancer.
Lee was the first child of five born on August 16, 1949, to the union of Lee Dale Rogers Sr, and Velma Rogers in Kansas City, Kansas. His father Lee Dale Rogers Sr., mother Velma Rogers and sister Ivory Mae Rogers preceded him in death.
Lee attended the Lincoln Senior High, after which he worked for Sears Robeck, Cook Paint, Ollendorph Paper Company and Fibri-Quilt working 40 years with different company then he retired. After one year in retirement Lee returned back to work, working janitorial services with Modern Maintenance with Environmental Protection Agency until his health declined. Lee accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior late in life.
Lee loved his Old western sitcom, Jeopardy and the Kansas City Royals. He was always watching western sitcom, Jeopardy and the Royal games. He also loved bar-b-que. You could expect a warm and greeting smile from Lee. He was the reflection of the humble spirit, which was a direct resemblance of his father spirit.
Lee leaves to mourn: His three sister Mary/Michael Thompson, Knovelrhea Rogers and Teresa Rogers all of the city; One nephew Brandon Rogers; One niece Dana Thompson one great nephew Nasir Rogers and one great niece Brooklyn Thompson and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 01, 2021, 11:00am at Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10am-11am at the chapel. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website. Due to COVID-19, social distancing and face coverings are required.
