Jeffery Lynn Porter, loving husband, father, son, brother, and granddad, passed away unexpectedly at age 61, on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.
Jeff was born December 3, 1960, to Arthur V. Hairston and Irene Porter in Kansas City, KS. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member at Greater Pentecostal Temple in Kansas City, KS.
Jeff received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Army in 1982. He graduated from Webster University earning a Master of Arts in Counseling and was employed with Chautauqua Counseling Center in Kansas City, KS. He earned his certificate of membership with Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., through the Omicron XI Chapter #771 on April 19, 2003.
On May 16, 2009, Jeff married his soulmate Pamela (Bond) Porter of 13 years. Their blended family included children, Crystal Porter of Saint Louis, MO, Tenisha (Quincy) Perkins of Overland Park, KS, and Cormaun Porter, of Overland Park, KS. His grandchildren, Serenity Porter, Davon, and Leon Perkins.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Irene Porter; two older brothers, James (Nancy) Porter of Longmont, CO, and Terry Porter of Overland Park, KS; and older sister, Vera Porter-Moore of Kansas City, MO, and a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Hairston, daughter, Dezhare Porter, grandson, Chance Porter, and brother, Anthony Porter.
Funeral Service will be held Tu7esday, June 21, 2022,11:00am at Salem Baptist Church 1824 N. 11th St. Kansas City, KS 66104. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the church. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
