Eddie J. Brown was born on April 15, 1955 in Hollandale, Mississippi the only boy of five children born to Johnny and Angie Bell Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Mae Creath, Flordia Jackson and Mattie Pearl Brown.
Eddie lived in the Kansas City area most of his life and was educated in the Kansas City public schools. He furthered his education obtaining a certificate in Medical Office Management and also license as a C.N.A . He was employed with numerous nursing homes throughout the city, his last employment was with Autumn Terrace Nursing Home where he retired after fifteen years of service.
Eddie was united in marriage to the former Sabrina Hallum and to this union children were born, Kendra, Jamell and LaKier. He had another daughter, Kiah. He later united in marriage to the former Mary E. Stewart Jones and gained a beautiful blended family consisting of three children, Almeda, Milan (deceased) and Kanisha. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family.
In 1989 he united with the Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Joseph Clark, where he served on the Usher Board for many years.
Eddie departed this life on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at the Truman Medical Center.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Mary E. Brown of the home; his children, Kendra Brown, Jamell Brown and LaKier Brown, Kiah Martin, Almeda Jones-Fuller and Kanisha Stewart; sister, Larry Dean Brown; eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, a host of other relatives and many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022, 11:00am at Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church. Private Disposition. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
