Douglas Ray McCauley, 62, was born November 17, 1960, in Charleston, Missouri to Bertha McCauley and MacArthur Shelby. His stepfather, Elder Melvin Strong, Sr. was an integral part of his life. Douglas attended Southeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri. He was employed at National Envelope Company for 30 years and ultimately retiring after working for MWI Veterinary Supply. Douglas was indeed a hardworking man.
Doug (Dougie, Dougie Fresh) as he was affectionately called, loved spending time with family, barbecuing, watching football (especially the Chiefs), and listening to old school music. He even had a “green thumb” for growing tomatoes.
Doug departed this life on May 2, 2023. His parents, stepfather, three siblings, and two nephews preceded him in death.
Douglas leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Sandra McCauley, a son Adrian Clark, sisters Veldia White, Pamela Longmoore (David), Monnika McCauley, Jennifer Strong, Shannon Williams (Steven), all of Kansas City, Missouri, brothers, MacArthur Shelby (Wanda), Minneapolis, Minnesota, Christopher Montgomery (Felicia), Kansas City, Missouri, David Strong, Seattle, Washington, Melvin Strong, Kansas City, Missouri, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends that will dearly miss him.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 19, 2023, from 12pm-2pm at the Linwood Chapel. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
