Rickey started his journey on October 15, 1971 born to Karen Yvonne Shelby and Carl Huddleston (preceded in death. Rickey’s Life continuing graduating from Job Corps earning a high school and Associates of Arts degree. Rickey was a lifetime entrepreneur that specialized as a cook lovingly referred to as a Food Engineer. With these tools he expressed his love for Helping Others with a bright smile that only he could bestow.
Rickey is survived by his Wife Sophia and his children Davion Shelby, T’Keyah Shelby, Kevon Shelby, Joya Shelby (all Lubbock, TX), Ricardo Shelby (Sacramento, CA) and given children Darren and Devon Hackett (Sacramento, CA); Grandchildren Danny Cook, Aiden Shelby, Brooklyn Shelby, Julian Shelby, and C’ryah Robinson, Bryn’leigh Tuitt. He is also survived by Nieces and Nephews Isiah Foxx, Koren Foxx, Ivanson Foxx, Ivan Foxx Jr, and Great Niece Kahilia King (all of Sacramento, CA). He leaves behind his cherished Sisters Koren Foxx (Sacramento, CA) Sonya Ward (Colorado), Adonne Shelby (Sacramento, CA) and Brother William A Shuaib (Kansas City, MO); Aunts Deborah McCray (Anthony) of South Carolina, Rachelle Collins (Sacramento, CA), Carmen Shelby (Colorado), Kirsten Thompson (Sacramento, CA), Uncle Robert Shelby (Florida); Great Uncles Lida Carter (Kansas City, MO) and Beverly Johnson (Kansas City, MO).
Rickey was preceded in death by Great Grand Parents Emmett and Helen Shelby, Grand Parents Orvette Shelby and Ethel Thompson, Great Aunts Mildred Andrews, Carrie Roby, Albertine Cann, Uncles Paul Shelby, Cecil Shelby, Quinton Shelby, Don Shelby Jr., Rudy Shelby Sr, Orville Shelby and many other Family and Friends.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021, 5:00pm at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Interment Private Disposition. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel.
