Addison Grady Swayzer was born February 21 ]to Harold (Hal) Swayzer and Montana Royster Swayzer, in Blytheville, Arkansas. He departed this life on July 16, 2021. He was the 5th of 12 children born to this union. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Harold Nelson Swayzer, Edward Swayzer, Allen Swayzer, Robert Swayzer, John Swayzer, Fred Lee Swayzer and Clarence Swayzer, sisters; Ella Swayzer Anderson, Sarah Price, Bessie Swayzer; Colleen Swayzer, Leona Swayzer, Agnes Terrell and Inez Swayzer-Crockett.
Addison was united in marriage to Terri Jackson on June 22, 1996. They are proud parents of Pamela Swayzer, Marvin Swayzer, Karam ( Latashi) Jackson and Etienne "Trey" Frank. He was greatly delighted to be the grandfather of 6 grandchildren; Kristopher (Katie) Hosey, Ciarra Hosey, Joshua Swayzer,Karam Jackson, Jr., Karter Jackson and Ahmir Frank and even more excited to be the great grandfather of 4 great grandchildren; Ethan, Addison, Ty'Ana and A'Mauri. He is survived by four sisters Earnestine Stewart, Hazel Clark (Ernest), Joyce Swayzer Harris, Shelly Swayzer, Sheila Swayzer Jackson and Marenda Swayzer.
Addison grew up in rural Blytheville, Arkansas. He graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Blytheville in 1962.
Addison worked for Di Carlo Construction for over 30 years starting out as a laborer and then promoted to Forman. Addison enjoyed working for Di Carlo Construction and had many friends that he stayed in contact with even after his retirement in 2004.
Addison had several interests and hobbies. He loved coaching boys little league baseball. He loved sports and enjoyed watching Kansas City Chiefs football and the Kansas City Royals baseball and the Atlanta Braves. His servanthood unto the House of God at the Paseo Baptist Church he served as a faithful trustee and driver for the church bus ministry where he served for years with joy and pleasure as unto God. He was a dedicated trustee making major decisions concerning the building and ground maintenance.
Addison will be dearly missed by his family and friends and especially his wife who took special care of him during his days of illness with joy for her loving husband
Revelation 21:4: “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021, 11:00am at Paseo Baptist Church. Interment Brooking Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the church. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
