Michelee Renée Landis of Kansas City, Missouri was born June 9, 1957 to Lee Williams and Sherlene D. Polk and also parented by Paige D. Spears, passed away June 9, 2021.
Michelle affectionately known as Chelle, was the eldest of four sisters, Lynn, Carmella and Debra, and to Lee Williams and Joan Page three siblings Laurence, Lee and Robbie, also Vernon Page.
Michelle completed her formative education in the parochial school system where she was a high academic achiever, attending Annunciation Catholic School, St. Joseph Catholic School and Bishop Hogan High School graduating in 1975. Michelle soon after married her childhood sweetheart, Victor V. Landis, no children were born to this union.
Michelle had a tenured career in health insurance which provided her an opportunity for world travel and adventure to include exploration of Ireland, Europe and most of the Fifty states. Michelle eventually returned to Kansas City and retired from GEHA in 2014.
Everyone who knew Michelle knew her to be the life of the party. She was an avid sports fan “no phone calls were accepted during March Madness”, she enjoyed the Arts, fine dining and a collector of memorabilia from her various travels.
Michelle is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lucious Polk and James A. and Dorothy L. Toliver, paternal grandparents Lee and Jessie Williams, parents Lee “Nick” Williams and Paige D. and Sherlene D. Spears, husband Victor V. Landis, brother Lee A. Williams and beloved pet Fallon “Fal-Fal”.
Left to cherish Michelle’s memory are Lynn D. Williams, Carmella J. Morris (Clifford), Debra L. Williams, Laurence D. Williams and Robbie T. Williams, nieces Shereesa D.M. Williams, LaTosha D. Morris (Ahmad), and great niece Ava L. Vernon; companion James Bates, family friend Andrew “Drewdy” Cunningham, and her best Friend, Alice McDaniel, and a great number of relatives and friends. Michelle is missed by all who loved her.
Memorial service will held Friday, June 18, 2021, 10:00am at St. Monica Catholic Church. Private Disposition. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
