Mr. Aree Robinson Sr. (Papa) of Kansas City Mo. departed this life on June 7th, 2020 at KU Medical Center.
Aree was born May 1st, 1930 to Mose and Deather Robinson (Jordan) in Wrightsville, AR. Aree was the third born of nine children. He is preceded in death by both parents as well as seven of his siblings. He has two surviving brothers, Charles Robinson of Fairfield, CA and Cledell Robinson of Kansas City, MO.
Aree married Bertha S. Robinson on Feb 21st, 1957 and together they raised 4 children; Wanda Thomas, Ethia Reed, Aree Robinson Jr, and Bruce Robinson. Bertha preceded him in death on December 1st, 1984.
Aree met and married Callie Robinson in 1994, and was married to her until her passing on May 16th, 2020.
Aree served in the Military in two branches- United States Army and the United States Air Force. He retired from the Air Force achieving the rank of SSgt in 1972. After his military service he began working for Armco Steel and retired in 1988.
Aree was indeed a man of great faith and integrity. He served the Lord as a Deacon at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church for over 30 years. He also made joyful noise in the male chorus for he loved to lift his voice in praise. He was anchored with unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.
Deacon Robinson is survived by his children Wanda Thomas (Evans, Ga), Ethia Reed, Aree Jr (Lisa), and Bruce (Kansas City), and has passed his legacy on to 13 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Aree lived his life with purpose of intentionally extending himself to the aid of his family. Many knew him as Papa and he cherished and loved his grandchildren, and was always there for them. He was well known to be a gentleman you could count on, and always dependable. He was a Rock. He will be missed by all family and friends, who knew and loved him, for he was kind to all people.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 18th at Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Linwood Chapel. Visitation 9:00 A.M. Interment 12:30 P.M. Leavenworth National Cemetery.
