James Michael Ervin, age 70, passed away peacefully on February 27th at Grand Pavilion rehabilitation facility in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on June 18,1949 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a graduate of Lincoln high school in Kansas City, Missouri and received his bachelor’s degree form Park College in Parkville, Missouri. James Michael Ervin would like you to know his work on the interim world is done, and he will miss us all. However, he has received an irrefutable order, stating it is time for his homecoming. Although reunited with his departed family and friends, he is still with us in this moment here today to celebrate his home going; today, we express and remember what we love most about our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. A hardworking, joyous man to be around, he always kept a smile on his face and a joke on his lips ready to party- no one could tell him he didn’t have swag. Both cultured and hood with a multitude of knowledge, talkative and philosophical, Mike, generous to a fault, was truly a people person and would spend his last dime for anyone. With that being said, his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. We gather here today because he touched each one of us in some aspect of our lives. So to the man that has either impacted your head, heart, or soul he will always resonate in our memories. Our father, grand-father, brother, uncle, and friend, James Michael Ervin—Ali-Con— lived his life as every moment was his last, and will continue to live on through the impression he left on each one of us.
