Genoveva H. Fisher was born in Cuba on December 23, 1926 to Virginia Dixon. She was the fifth of seven children. She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Dixon, husband, Reginald D. Fisher, siblings, Robert Jackson, Melford Jackson, Albetina Campbell, Vincent Jackson, Owen Jackson and Edna Plowright.
At a very young age she moved from Cuba to Montego Bay, Jamaica. While in Jamaica she worked several jobs. Later she migrated to the United States in the 1950s where she was employed as a Nurses Aid at Saint Lukes Hospital until her retirement in 1991. She was also a licensed beautician.
She had many hobbies including her passion for traveling and sightseeing, entertaining and hosting dinner parties, locating antiques at garage and estate sales and having yard sales. She engaged in the art of hat making. Knitting and crocheting hats and blankets for family and friends was also a favorite of hers.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia K. Estes, Overland Park, KS two grandsons; Frederick R. Estes, Jr. (Rebecca) Overland Park, KS and Anthony M. Estes (Robin) Lenexa, KS, six great grandchildren; Brittany A. Estes, Aleah R. Estes, Ashley M. Estes, Raquel A. Estes, Sean A. Estes and Alexander M. Estes and a host of nieces and nephews and family friends.
Genoveva H. Fisher was a very nice and kind-hearted person with a beautiful spirit. She dedicated her life to her family. She will truly be missed by many.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Linwood Chapel. Private Disposition.
