Eloise Cunningham was born February 23, 1937 in The Bronx, New York. She was the daughter of Hartwell Yeargans and Willa Ingram. Eloise graduated from Christopher Columbus High School in 1955 and went on to attend the University of Kansas where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Education. Eloise later earned her master’s degree in Education. While at KU, she met her husband of 60 years, Doss Cunningham and also was a member of the Delta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. After leaving KU, Eloise took her love of education to the Kansas City, Kansas and the Kansas City, Missouri School Districts where she taught students from Kindergarten to Eighth Grade for 42 years. Eloise's love for teaching and learning was evident to her students and all those who worked with her. She was known for excellent preparation through detailed lesson plans that made learning fun for her students. Eloise retired from teaching in 2002. Eloise was a member of the Paseo Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Doss Cunningham, mother, Willa Ingram, Son, Timothy Cunningham, Daughter in Law, Georgia Cunningham, Grandson, Matthew Cunningham, Half-Sister, Kara Yeargans and countless relatives, friends, and colleagues. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Paseo Baptist Church 2501 Paseo Blvd. KCMO. Visitation 9:00 a.m. Interment Mount Moriah Cemetery
