Obituary

Edward L. Garrett Jr. was born into time on April 14, 1950. He was born into eternity on December 26, 2020. He was second born to the late Edward L. Garrett Sr. and Barbara Garrett. His brother Gerald preceded him. Edward accepted Christ at an early age and later joined and was ordained a deacon at the Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Gerald H. Schiele Sr. Deacon Garrett served faithfully as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. Anytime any work needed to be completed at the church, Deacon Garrett was always there. Deacon Garrett worked as an electrician, carpenter, and Chaplain in the Kansas City Area. He received his Bachelor and Master of Arts Degrees from the Western Baptist Bible College.

He preached his initial sermon at Western Baptist Bible College in the Spring of 2018. Deacon Garrett was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his mother, making sure she attended worship service at Pleasant Green. Deacon Garrett will truly be missed by all who loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory; Mother, Barbara Garrett; Daughters, Rebecca Lawrence and Sarah Curry; Son, Christian Garrett; siblings, Brenda Garrett and Calvin Garrett; Grandchildren, Quinterra Glover, Sierra Curry; Great Grandchildren, Gaylan Glover II, La'Myah Glover, and Elias Glover; Nieces, Mia Garrett and Gia Garrett; Nephew, Michael Garrett; Great Nieces and Nephews, Brittany Watkins, Nicole Watkins, Emmanuel Watkins, Armani Brockman, Alexis Garrett and the Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church Family. 

A Private Family Viewing was held on Tuesday, January 5th. Private Disposition.
