Dr. MARY MAGDALENE WARREN
Mary wore her title as “Mother” with remarkable grace, and it made her one of the most loved mothers’ in the community. Mary Magdalene Warren died in Kansas City, Missouri on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 due to heart failure. Mary extended her leadership as “Mother” with dignity. Like all great mothers, she learned to function with pain and keep serving her community. She kept marching as God directed her steps. She never flinched but rose to the occasion in any crisis. She loved everyone she came into contact with, never judged anyone, raised several children including those who were not her biological children. She saw the good in everyone. At the date of her death Dr. Warren was 81 years old. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on August 5,1938 to James and Ruth Warren who preceded her in death many years ago. She attended the private Catholic Schools in Leavenworth, Kansas. She was a member of many organizations, but her favorites were Knights and Ladies of Peter Claver, Court 57, Ladies Auxiliary, Associated Hairdressers and Cosmetologist of Missouri, National Beauty Culture League, Inc. She was a member of Alpha Beta Chapter, Theta Nu Sigma Sorority. She was in business for many years as a cosmetologist with many loyal lone time customers who were also her friends. She was a member of the St. Monica Catholic Church for her entire life. She loved to cook for her family, especially on Sundays when everyone would come to dinner just to be in her presence. She loved to travel with her family among so many other things.
Dr. Warren was widowed but she never missed a beat raising her six children, William J. Warren (Barbara), Elena L. Warren (Arthur), Cheryl M. Warren, Linda R. Warren-Stapleton (John), Michael W. Warren, and Kevin W. Warren. She had more than 50 grand, great, and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at St. Monica Catholic Church 1616 Paseo Blvd. Kansas City, Missouri 64108. Visitation 9:00 a.m. Interment Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
