Deacon J.C. Dunn

J.C. Dunn, passed away on May 10, 2023, at Ignite Medical Resort of KS.

J. C. Dunn was born August 29, 1936, to Henry Dunn, Sr. and Allene Dunn. 

J. C. accepted Christ at an early age at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Wabbaseka, Arkansas.

J. C. grew up and lived on the family farm in Wabash, Arkansas with his parents and siblings.

In High School he was called Kinfolk because he was very protective of his two younger sisters. 

After High School, he married LaVern Rowe and moved to Kansas City, Missouri.  To this union two children were born.

Deacon “J. C.” was a member of Westminister Baptist Church.  He was on the Deacon Board and a member of the choir.

J. C. was preceded in death by his wife, LaVern and grandson, DeAndre Dunn, Louis Dunn, Sr., two brothers, Willie Dunn, Sr. and Henry Dunn, Jr.; one sister, Irene McAfee.

J. C. leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Karen Dunn; grandsons, Brain Dunn “Laura” Dunn, Louis, Jr., Caleb Dunn; granddaughter,Shanika Dunn, Latrice Dunn  Precious Dunn; great grandchildren; sisters, Jewell Rice, Maddie Calahan, Aretha Stevens; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, 11am at Westminster Baptist Church. Interment Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10am-11am at the church. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
