Mr. Theone A. Scott

Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Theone Scott, departed this life on July 15, 2025, at Centerpoint Medical Center, surrounded by the love of his devoted children and grandchildren. Born on July 5, 1955, in Kansas City, MO, to the late Theodore Scott and Gladys Oliver (Moss). Affectionately known as “The-One”, his presence was unforgettable, and his spirit was unshakable. Theone attended Paseo High School and soon after, in 1975, he joined the National Guard, beginning a lifelong path of service and purpose. On April 17, 1976, he married Balenda K. Hardin (Scott), and in 1978, he furthered his commitment to service by joining the United States Army, where he was known as a passionate and exceptional soldier. Over the years, Theone pursued many paths. He worked as a cook at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, found joy in working with his hands as a mechanic, and had a deep passion for remodeling homes. No matter the task, he gave it his all. A man of faith, he accepted the Lord at an early age and was baptized. His famous words, “I’m a tough piece of leather, well put together, ready for any kind of weather,” captured the spirit of who he truly was, strong and steady. A true fighter, he faced life’s battles head-on with courage and pride. Theone was preceded in death by his loving parents Theodore Scott and Gladys Oliver (Moss); his siblings Regina Scott (Whitmore), Theodora Scott (Durham), and Torrence Scott; his cherished grandson, Khalil Scott and Father-in-law, Joesph Stokes. He leaves behind to cherish his memory His loving daughters: Kinya, Tasha, and Charlotte; His brother: Ricky Scott; His grandchildren: Mark’Esha, Dimitri Jr., Marshawn, Erbin, Nickolas, Gordynne, Khole, Kristian, and Alya his mother-in-law: Helen Marie; his brothers-in-law: Mark Hardin and Jesse Hardin; his sister-in-law: Debra Fell and a host of nieces nephews and friends. Theone’s legacy will forever live in the hearts of all who knew him. His strength, love, and laughter will neverbe forgotten. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation 10:00am – 11:00 a.m. at the chapel.
