First Lady Roberta M. Fisher

Roberta Mae Fisher was born on October 18, 1945 (9 th out of 11 children), to Dan and Annie (Chapman) Bradford in Clinton, Louisiana. She peacefully transitioned on March 5, 2024 in the home under the care of her loving husband, surrounded by family. On June 23, 1963, she met the love of her life (Earnest L. Fisher, Sr.) at a sweet shop while visiting one of her sisters in Amite, Louisiana. They later married on March 5, 1966 in the home of Earnest’s grandmother. To this union, they have 4 children (Darlene, Amanda, Earnest Jr, and Myron). Her husband moved her and their two daughters to Kansas City, Missouri in July of 1967 for better job opportunities. The family grew with the addition of their two sons. She received her license as Evangelist Missionary in 1976 (two years after her husband was an Ordained Elder). She served faithfully alongside her husband as the First Lady at New Hope Tabernacle of Faith C.O.G.I.C. for 48 years where her husband is Founder and Pastor. She was a servant in many capacities and passionate about winning souls for Christ. Her favorite quote was “I Have No Sad Story.” She worked in the healthcare profession over 40 years before retiring in 2013. Prior to the decline of her health she conducted weekly prayer services on Wednesday mornings at the church and visited the nursing homes. In April 2023, New Hope Tabernacle of Faith C.O.G.I.C. established The Roberta M. Fisher Scholarship Fund which has benefited 3 high school seniors. She was preceded in death by both parents Dan and Annie (Chapman) Bradford, four brothers, Filmore Bradford, LD Bradford, Dan Bradford Jr, and Burnell Bradford, and one sister, Deola Osborne. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Administrative Assistant Earnest L. Fisher, Sr, two daughters; Darlene Fisher Polk (Clyde) and Amanda L. Williams, two sons; Earnest L. Fisher, Jr (Rachael) and Myron D. Fisher, two sisters; Sarah Edwards and Elnora Norwood, three brothers; OL Bradford (Elnora), Bernard Bradford (Ora) and Joel Bradford, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brother/sister-n-laws, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services Saturday, March 16, at 11:00am at Barker Memorial Cathedral of Praise COGIC. Visitation 9:00am-11:00am at the church.. Interment Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
