Ms. Roberta Battles

Obituary “Faye” Roberta (Clark) Battles was born on June 6, 194, in Kansas City, Kansas to Thelma Stephens and Scott Gayhardt. Both parents preceded in death. Roberta as the second child to Thelma. Thelma moved her family to Kansas City, Missouri there Roberta attended Central High. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Pleasant Green Baptist Church; however, towards the end of her life she came into the knowledge that she was an Israelite according to the Bible. God’s chosen people. Roberta had an outgoing personality that always made being around her enjoyable with her beautiful infectious smile. She enjoyed dancing, singing, bowling, playing pool, and traveling. She managed a household while raising three children Darrell, Tracey, and Sean. She worked at Western Missouri for twenty years also as a beautician. In 1988 she moved to California returning in 1996 and was employed for City Hall. Roberta had a lot of lifelong friends Johnnie Henderson, Hazel Hardin, Velma Wilson, Diana Sims, Gloria Joseph, and Bev. Roberta is survived by her three children: Darrell Clark (Ariel) of Raytown, Missouri, Tracey Haynes of Kansas City, Missouri, Sean Haynes (Cheryl) of Florida. One sister, Theressa Walston of Kansas City, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Khobi Clark, Zane Clark, Michael Haynes (Gabby), Marcus Haynes (Ronjanay), Markell Trotter (Kaitlyn), Shantel Haynes, Shali Haynes; three great grandchildren, Madison Sterling, Marlo Haynes, Marcus Haynes, Jr.; two nieces, Andrea Castleberry, Robin Morgan; one great niece, Shyia Morgan; one great nephew, Deandre Clark; a host of relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 5, 2021, 11:00am at Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Private Disposition. Visitation will be from 10am-11am at the chapel.
