Peggy A. Robinson

Obituary Peggy Ann Robinson was born June 10, 1933, to Vesta Mae Robinson and Walter June Robinson in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the eldest of two children. Peggy departed this life on Saturday, March 17, 2018. She was preceded in death by both parents and her sister, Ethola Mae Barr. Peggy grew up in Paola, Kansas. She graduated from Paola High School in 1950. After high school she worked in the local factory. After the factory she studied and became a licensed Mental Health Aid at Osawatomie State Hospital where she worked for several years. She met Joseph Wakefield and the two were united in marriage. To this union one daughter, Julie D. Wakefield and two sons, Joseph C. Wakefield, Jr. and Robert F. Wakefield were born. Peggy and Joseph lived in California for a few years and then moved to Paola, Kansas and Topeka, Kansas where Peggy remained after her divorce to raise her children. Peggy then met Larry Wynne and the two were united in marriage. To this union a son was born, Brock A. Wynne. After several years of marriage Peggy and Larry ended their union in divorce. Peggy graduated from MDTA Secretarial School in the early ‘70’s and went on to work as a Medical Secretary and Legal Secretary for numerous years. She also worked at Topeka State Hospital as a licensed Mental Health Aid for numerous years. Peggy then furthered her legal work by working with the Legal Aid Society of Topeka in the early ‘80’s as their Receptionist/Secretary. After four years she was promoted to Pro Bono Coordinator and after several years as the Pro Bono Coordinator she was promoted to a Paralegal position and remained in that position until she retired. While employed with the Legal Aid Society of Topeka she received numerous awards and recognitions. Peggy Ann Robinson leaves to cherish her memory her children: Joseph C. Wakefield, Jr., Julie D. Wakefield-Noriega, Robert F. Wakefield and Brock A. Wynne; daughters-in-law, Theresa Wynne and Rhonda Wakefield; grandchildren: Patrick Noriega, Jr, Nicholas Noriega, Adaryl Wakefield, Noah Wynne, Tobias Wynne, Joseph Wakefield, III and Shantel Wakefield-Talbert; a host of great-grandchildren; niece, Pam Miller; nephews: Leslie Kimball, Darryl Barr and Wesley Barr; a host of great nieces and nephews; cousins: Delores Harding, Teresa Williams and Darlene Harding; and other family and friends. Funeral Service for Peggy A. Robinson will be held Saturday, March 31, 11:00 a.m. at St. James UMC Renaissance Church, 7205 Longview Road Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Church. Private Disposition.
