Patsy E. Williams

Obituary Ellensteen “Patsy” Williams was born March 19, 1946 in Sunflower, Mississippi to Isadore Slack Jr. and Katheryn Virginia (Martin) Buggs. She was proceeded in death by her father, her paternal grandparents, her maternal grandparents, and her brother Aljoyray “Ray” Buggs. Patsy was adored especially being the first grandchild of her paternal grandparents. She ventured out on her first road trip outside of Sunflower, Mississippi at the age of 6 with her aunts and paternal grandfather. She was a bit chatty in these days and brought much entertainment to the trip as well as wherever she went! She acquired her nickname of “Patsy” because she loved to pat her feet in church while singing, “Thank You Lord!” She relocated to Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 7 and was excited about this new adventure! Patsy attended Central High School and received her first job at the Linwood Theater as the Ticketing Agent. Many knew her and looked forward to seeing her very friendly demeanor and her big smile to match her big hair! When it comes to big hair, her philosophy may have been, "Go Big or Go Home!” Patsy loved to celebrate the holidays, but Christmas was by far her favorite. She would decorate her house for Christmas like no other! Her winter wonderland was a sight to see. A brother nicknamed one of her unique Christmas trees, "The BLOB". This Christmas tree was decorated with white angel hair, various ornaments, and lots of lights everywhere. She was very artistic. Drawing was a gift and she had a knack for interior decorating. She loved fashion, took pride in her long beautiful nails and loved, loved, loved her jewelry and blonde “fluffy” hair! She was a DIVA in her own right! Patsy married Roy Williams at an early age. In her early 20’s, she discovered that she was going to be a first time parent. What she didn’t know was that her baby girl would be arriving in 3 months! Two years later she gave birth to her second child. She woke up, walked to the nursery and glanced upon the cutest little curly headed baby. To her surprise it was her baby boy! After 30 years of faithful service and customer care at Hyatt Regency, she retired and began spending lots of time traveling to Boston, Massachusetts as well as up and down the eastern coastal area with her daughter and grandchildren. A faithful friend shared with Patsy about 20 years ago, how she could know and have a personal relationship with God. She was eternally transformed and her life was never the same. Patsy was a loving mother, sister, daughter, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. Patsy E. Williams leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted and loving mother, Katheryn M. Buggs; daughter, Rashaun Morris; son, Antwine (Traci) Williams, Sr.; grandsons, Antoine Morris and Antwine Williams, Jr.; granddaughter, Haleigh Morris; brothers, Rickey Dean Buggs and Anthony “Tony” Buggs; sister, Cordelia June “Dusty” (John) Black; nieces, Latisha Todd-Buggs and Taela Moyé; nephew, Chevalier’ Moyé; paternal aunts: Christine Jackson, Juanita Slack, Marie King, and Doris Stevens; and a host of other family and friends. Funeral Service for Mrs. Patsy E. Williams will be held Saturday, April 14, 12:00 p.m. at the Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Funeral Chapel, 1800 E.
