Pamela Michelle Antwine

Pamela Michelle Antwine was born to the union of Roy Lee and Marilyn Virginia Hughes on January 30, 1955, at Queen of the World Hospital in Kansas City Missouri. Her husband, James Antwine, mother, Marilyn V. Gee, father, Roy Lee Hughes, stepfather, James W. Gee, sister, Merrie D. Gee, sister, Lori A. Gee; beloved nephew, Maurice J. Reynolds and beloved pet, Richie Kane all preceded Pamela in death. Pamela gave her life to Christ at an early age. She attended St. John Missionary Baptist Church under Rev. Thomas F. McCormick, where she served in the Young Adult Choir as President. She was also a member of the Jr. Mission and served on the Usher Board. She attended Meservy, Seven Oaks and J.S Chick Elementary. For middle and high school, she attended Southeast where she graduated in the class of 1973. She was active in volleyball, home economics, wood shop as well as a candy striper. Pamela started her work life at Burns & McDonnell where she worked as a secretary. She then went on to hold various roles at Marine Corp, AT&T, and finally retired from The Internal Revenue Service in 2016. Pamela was the oldest of 6 sisters. A role she took very seriously. She was a homebody who loved to cook and bake, very well may we add. She loved to decorate her home for the holidays. Halloween was her favorite. She had been known to throw some of the best Halloween parties and have the cutest decorations. She was a true country girl at heart, spending much of her childhood in Dalton Missouri where both her parents were born and raised. She loved good food, good music and good movies. Pamela was known to have a great sense of humor and you were assured real and funny conversations revealing her beautiful, dimple faced smile. She blessed the world with three beautiful children with whom she shared a strong bond. She enjoyed spending time with her children and laughing with them. She was a wonderful mother who loved her babies as they loved her. Pamela was the type of mom who always had dinner ready after school and sat at the dining table with her children to help with their homework. She loved taking her kids on road trips--as she was too afraid to fly---and quoting funny movies with them. A favorite pastime they all shared with each other. She shared a special humor with her children and all those who had the honor of knowing her. Also known for her green thumb, Pamela loved to plant beautiful flowers and vegetables in her garden every summer. We were all blessed to have her in our lives and she will be sorely missed by all. She leaves to mourn her passing: oldest son, Freddie J. Gee; only daughter, Ashlyn Nicole Antwine; and baby boy, Jason E. Antwine; three sisters, Mara; Yolanda; and Minnie Gee; one nephew, Jeffery Perkins; two nieces, Miya Reynolds; and Alyssa Shephard; all of Kansas City, Missouri; dear friends, Deborah Hudgens; Sharon Murphy; Patricia Elliott; Rene Bartee; and Toni Miller; and a host of family; co-workers; neighbors; and devoted friends. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday June 1, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. at Watkins Heritage Chapel 4000 Emanuel Cleaver Blvd. KCMO 64130. Private Disposition. Visitation: 2-3:00 P.M. at the Chapel.
