Obituary Odessa Moore was born in Kansas City, Missouri on December 1, 1941, to Otis Cromer and Arlene Jiles Cromer. She was the youngest of two girls and born a fraternal twin. Odessa enjoyed a lively childhood with her sister Frances, twin brother Otis and extended family in Kansas City. She started her walk with Christ at a young age and continued her stride into womanhood as the epitome of a true woman of God. Odessa was a graduate from Lincoln High School in 1961. After high school she moved to Flint, Michigan with her father to work and spend time with extended family in Michigan until she returned to Kansas City in 1962. On March 31, 1963, Odessa Married Samuel Moore. They had three children, Bonita, William, and Yolanda. Odessa took pride in caring for her family. Year after year she looked forward to spending the Forth of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays with all her family. She enjoyed caring for her family and home and was considered a very good cook. One of her specialties was lasagna and she also enjoyed working in the garden. Odessa had strong passion for helping others and was active in the (WMU) Women’s Missionary Union at Friendship Baptist Church. Odessa had a successful work life in the Kansas City area for several companies as a factory worker. She spent approximately three years with Kay Electronics and fifteen years with IMCO Container Co. and later moved on to Honeywell for six years until her health failed her into disability in 1990. Odessa was an Avon and Home Interior saleswoman. Odessa loved cooking and baking for her family. Odessa departed this life on Monday, August 8th, 2022. She was proceeded in death by her Parents Otis Cromer, Arlene Jiles and her fraternal twin brother Otis. Odessa leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of fifty-nine years Samuel Moore; sister, Frances Carson; her son, William Alan Moore (Pamela), her daughters, Bonita E Moore and Yolanda R, Bentley eight grandchildren, Chiquita, Terrell (Shine), Amy, John, Jason, Ryan, Nicholas, and Gabrielle; four great grandchildren, Gionni, Bellami, Aniyah, Aaliyah many nieces, nephews and cousins, and many beloved friends. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2022, 11:00am at Friendship Baptist Church. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the church.
