Obituary Maurice Jermaine *Big Reece* Reynolds was born March 11, 1982 in Kansas City, Mo. to Mara Gee and Maurice C. Reynolds. Throughout his childhood and teenage years, he grew up in the neighborhood of Blue Hills at 5602 Olive. He loved his old neighborhood and continued to represent the 50s for life. Maurice made countless friends in the neighborhood, many who he remained friends with and who became like family. As a child, he attended St. John Missionary Baptist Church Sunday school and church services with his grandmother, Sis. Marilyn Gee and family. He participated in Easter and Christmas plays and other church events. He was educated in the Kansas City Public School District, attending the southwest cluster- Hartman, Hale Cook, Marlborough elementary schools, and then later attended Central Middle school. He went on to graduate from Central High School class of 2000, representing the mighty Blue Eagles. You couldn*t tell him anything about his school and his class, everybody loved him and he loved them. Many memories were shared and cherished by Maurice of his friends and what good times they all had throughout the years. Maurice never met a stranger. After high school he attended The University of Missouri- Kansas City where he built bonds and friendships that continued until the day he passed and will live on forever. He always told his family about *the Yard* and about him and his friends times at the UC and the cafe', joking and having a good time. Maurice was well known around the city as being a gentle giant and a stand-up guy. If he was one thing, *real* was definitely it. He was employed in the Kansas City area, most recently providing security as a bouncer at various events and locations in the city. As kind as he was, you always knew there was a time to play with him and there was a time not to. Maurice was a lover of sports- especially basketball and football, music- Nipsey Hussle was his favorite rapper, and movies- Die Hard and Menace II Society. He loved and valued the simple things in life and appreciated the small things for what they were. Family was everything to Maurice. He was lovingly nicknamed *Big Dad* by his father, *Boo* by his mother and little sister, *Boxy* by his aunts and cousins, and *Big Reece* by his multitude of friends. There were very few people who met him and didn*t love him. Maurice will forever be remembered by his mother, Mara; father, Maurice; baby sister and best friend, Miya Imani; maternal aunts, Pamela Antwine, Lori Gee, Yolanda Gee, and Minnie Gee; paternal uncles, Bruce Reynolds (Donna), Michael Harris (Brenda), and Eric Harris; maternal first cousins, Freddie, Ashlyn, Jeffery, Jason, and Alyssa; paternal first cousins, Demond, Brett, Briana, and Jeff; close friends, Reggie, Luqman, Achavis, and Aaron; second parents, Hubert and Rita Eason; and a multitude of other family, loved ones, and friends. Maurice departed this life on March 10, 2021 at 11:59pm, one minute before his thirty-ninth birthday. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021, 2:00pm at Watkins Heritage Chapel.
