Obituary On June 1, 2022 Mary passed from this life and was welcomed by her parents, Annie Lee and Edward Lee Swift, her sisters Isabelle Swift Pierce, Jessie Swift Barnett, Flossie Mae Swift Flowers, Imogean Harris Brown, husband Cecil Hylton, son Cecil Hylton Jr., and great grandson Nazir Ray. Mary Lee Hylton was born April 14, 1933 to Annie Lee and Edward Lee Swift in Trimble, Tennessee. Mary attended Bruce High School in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Most of her years were spent being a stay-at-home mom to her children. Mary did eventually retire from janitorial services in Kansas City, Missouri. Mary volunteered often at local pantries in the community. She was known for her welcoming spirit and having the best garden on her street. Mary accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church of Grandview, MO. She served as a faithful member on the Mothers Board and truly loved the Lord. Mary had a heart of pure gold and did all that she could in order to make sure that her family was taken care of. Mary loved cooking, spending time in her garden and baking. She mostly enjoyed german chocolate cake and Italian cream cake. Gospel music was heard often in Mary’s home. Mary made it a priority to attend church and made it a priority that others followed as well. Mary is survived by her sister Annie Ruth Swift Bryant, brothers, Edward Earl Swift (Juanita), Johnny Mack Swift. Mary is survived by her children: Willie Swift (Gloria), Marie Jackson, Kenneth Hylton (Liezel), Darrell Hylton and Cynthia Hylton (Richard). Grandchildren: Rodger Jackson, MaKeshia Jackson, Ledrue Jackson, Donnelle Roe, Adriana Swift, Willie Swift Jr, Kiera Hylton, Kavon Harrison, Kameron Hylton, Kamesha Hylton, Brittany Hylton, Asia Hylton, Davionna Pointer, Katijana Hylton, Kayden Hylton, Serea Edward and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022, 12:00pm at Second MBC. Private Disposition. Visitation will be from 11am-12pm at the church. Service conducted by Lawrence A.
