Mrs. Martha A. Hurtt

Martha Hurtt was born on July 18, 1956 in Clinton, Missouri to Dorothy and Harold Steward. She was the seventh child and youngest daughter in a family of eight children — four brothers and four sisters — and was raised in a home firmly rooted in faith and the love of God. Martha came to know Christ early in life and carried that devotion with her every step of the way. In 1975 she made her home in Kansas City, Missouri where she would build the life God had purposed for her. On a foundation of love and faith, Martha married the love of her life, Lewis Hurtt Jr., in 1986. Together they built a family and a home filled with purpose, prayer, and grace. Martha was blessed to raise her children full time — pouring herself into the lives of her eldest son Justin, born in 1988, her daughter Victoria, born in 1992, and her youngest son Daniel, born in 1994. She raised each of them in the fear and admonition of the Lord, the same way she herself had been raised, and the fruit of that investment is evident in the people they have become. Martha was a woman of extraordinary beauty — both inside and out. She carried a light that drew people to her naturally and a warmth that made everyone around her feel seen, loved, and welcome. Her faith was not just something she practiced — it was who she was. It shaped how she loved her husband, how she raised her children, and how she moved through every season of life with grace and quiet strength. She is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Lewis Hurtt Jr.; her three children, Victoria Hurtt of Atchison, Kansas, Justin Hurtt and his wife, Samara, of Dallas, Texas, and Daniel Hurtt of Chicago, Illinois; her cherished grandchild, Camden Hurtt; as well as her brothers, sisters, and a legacy of love that will never fade. Martha is no longer with us in body but she is exactly where she always believed she would be — in the presence of her Lord and Savior. She will live on forever through her children, through her grandchild, through her husband, and in the hearts of everyone whose life she touched. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7 Memorial service will be held on Saturday June 20, 2026, at Connection Point Church 10500 E. 350 Hwy Raytown, MO 64138.
