Ms. Marjorie Jefferson

Marjorie Jefferson, passed away on November 8, 2024, at the home. Marjorie Elaine (Donahue) Jefferson, 60, affectionately called, “Dee-Dee”, by family and friends, was born to the Union of Captolia “Toby” and Leon Donahue, on July 12, 1964. Marjorie accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized in1974, by the late Rev. Willie Kizine at the St. Johns Missionary Baptist Church, where she continued to serve until her death. As a member at St. John, Marjorie served as an usher, and on the kitchen ministry. She regularly attended and enjoyed Sunday School and Bible Study, often helping to maintain placement in the scripture reading. Marjorie was educated in the Kansas City Public School District. She graduated from East High School in 1982. Shortly after high school, Majorie married Charles “Jeff” Jefferson Jr., and remained wed until his passing in 1988. Majorie held many positions of employment including, most notably working at Fifty (50) Minutes Cleaners for over 15 years, and home health care, including caring for her Aunt Dorothy Jean and continued working as a home health aide until her death. Dee-Dee enjoyed listening to music, playing cards & dominos, and spending time with her family, especially her only son, DeAndre, her sisters, brother, nephews, nieces, and cousins. Marjorie “Dee-Dee” Jefferson departed this life on Friday, November 8, 2024. She is proceeded in death by her husband, both parents, her oldest sister Sherbie Lynn McCormick, her maternal grandparents, Rev. L.W. & First Lady Laura McCormick, paternal grandparents, Oscar & Lenora Donahue, her babies, Tiffany & Aaron. “Dee-Dee” leaves to cherish her loving memory to her only son, DeAndre Donahue, of Kansas City, MO; granddaughter, Ka’Niyah Donahue of Kansas City, MO; Sisters Cassandra McCormick, Deanna “Lady” Donahue, Ladonna Donahue, all of Kansas City, MO.; her only brother, Eric R. Donahue Sr. (Sheila), of Keller, TX., Uncles, Rev. Thomas F. McCormick Sr., and Dea. James McGee Sr., both of Kansas City, MO; Aunt, Laura Mae (McCormick) Mitchell, of Kansas City, MO. Nieces, Jeanine McCormick and Erika Abraham; Nephews, William Handy, Carlis “Los” McCormick (Shida), Corey McCormick (Chalice), Eric Donahue Jr., Deon Abraham, Carlton McCormick, Joshua Donahue, Cameron Donahue, Payton Donahue; 6 great-nieces, 5 great-nephews; ride or die cousin, Albert McCormick; close friend/sister, Diane Jefferson; a host of cousins, her St. John’s Church Family, friends, and many more who loved her. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday November 20, 2024, 1pm at St. John's Baptist Church. Interment: Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation: 11am-1pm. at the church. Services conducted by Lawrence A.
