Obituary Mrs. Marilyn Joyce, Owens-Hill was born on October 23, 1955 in Kansas City, MO to Albert and Opal Lee Owens. She gained her wings from God and was called home on September 15, 2022. Marilyn was preceded in death by her mother, Opal Owens, her father, Albert Owens jr, her sister, Clara T Lipsey and her brother, Eddie Ray Stephenson. Marilyn grew up in Kansas City, Missouri where she attended the Kansas City Public School District and graduated from Paseo High School in 1973. On February 14, 1997 Marilyn Joyce Owens and Alfred Lewis Hill were united in Marriage. Marilyn worked for the Kansas City School District for 25 years. She started as the Cafeteria Cashier at Paseo High and Middle School. She worked her way up to the Cafeteria Manager position. At the time of retirement, she was the Cafeteria Manager for Border Star Montessori School. Marilyn was an amazing person, she was sweet, gentle, funny, fashionable and had a pure heart. She was a believer in God and loved the Lord, she rededicated her life to Christ in August of 2022. Her favorite scripture was Psalms 23:1-6. Although Marilyn (Our Super Woman) birthed 4 children she was a mother to many. She loved genuinely and unconditionally. To know her was to love her. She loved going to the grocery store, cooking, making DIY crafts, two-stepping, but her favorite thing to do was spending time with her family and loved ones. She was known by many names: Marilyn, MarilynJoyce, Myrl, Aunt Myrl, Moma, Ms. Owens, Mrs. Hill, Moma Owens, Myrl Girl, Maw Maw, Marilyn Monroe and Our Super Woman, we can now add Our Angel to the list. She was truly one of a kind and will be dearly missed. Marilyn leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Alfred Lewis Hill, her four sisters Ethel Stephenson, Evelyn Owens-Taylor (Herbert Taylor), Carolyn Burton and Sherry Owens. Her one brother Thaddus Owens (Clancetta Owens). Her four children Parish Owens, Malaiia Robinson-Collier (Reginald Collier), Jerreah Robinson and Chanai Robinson (Louis Davis). Seven Grandchildren Parish Owens jr, Malaiia Collier, Paydon Owens, Christian Owens, Marilyn West, Regzae “Rosie” Collier, Lorenzo Davis, all of Kansas City Missouri. She also leaves a host of relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022, 11:00am at the Linwood Chapel. Interment Monday Oct. 3rd, 12:30 pm, Leavenworth National Cemetery, LVNKS. Visitation will be from 10am-11am at the chapel. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel.
