Obituary Margaret Lucille Gibson age 108 transitioned to her heavenly mansion on July 31, 2021 In Kansas City, MO at her home. She was born Jan. 8, 1913 in Boonville, MO. To the late John Henry Miller Sr. And Anna Mae Patterson Miller she was the eldest of seven children to their Union. Lucille was a graduate of Sumner high school in Boonville, MO She was employed at St. Luke's Medical Center as a Physical Therapist Technician, she was the first Black Physical Therapist Technician until her retirement. She loved to travel and was the eldest member of Park Avenue Baptist Church and also the founder of Golden Angels Choir. At age 19 Lucille became a member of the Eastern Stars. She was a dedicated follower through the years. Lucille became the Grand Worthy Matron of the Ladies #16 of Kansas City, she held the position for many years until health failed and she could no longer keep her active role with the Eastern Stars.Lucille met and married her husband Andrew Gibson they remained married until his death in 1989 Lucille was preceded in death by her Parents John Henry and Anna Miller. Sisters Anna Laura Miller, Ruby Miller, Mary Isalean Brown. Brothers, Luther V Miller Sr John Henry Miller Jr, Garfield B. Miller. Lucille leaves to cherish her precious memories Nieces Sarita (Melvin) Word-of Gary Indiana, Phyllis Boclair, of Chicago, Illinois, Jacquie Shepperson of Richmond, Virginia, and Frances Butler of Hawaii. Nephews Luther V (Carol) Miller Jr., of Holland Michigan and Pastor James(LeNora) Horton of Fort Worth Texas. Special and Loving Caregiver Mrs. Doris Grant. Special and Loving Cousins Mrs. Forescee Hogan Rowles of Los Angeles, CA, Mrs. Patricia Madison of Kansas City , MO, Mrs. Margaret Woods of Kansas City, MO., and Mr. Kenneth Bruce of Kansas City MO; a host of great nieces, nephews and cousins and devoted Church family. Lucille will be missed by many A Family Hour will be held Thursday, August 12, 2021, from 5pm-6pm, Eastern Star Ceremonial will be from 6pm-7pm at the Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service will be Friday, August 13, 2021,11:00 am at the Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the chapel. Interment will be held on Monday, August 16, 2021, at 10:00am Leavenworth National Cemetery, LVNKS. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel.
