Ms. Luretta Davis

Luretta Omelia Jackson-Davis was born Dec. 8,1930 to Johnny and Ardella Jackson in Ladd, Arkansas. Both preceded her in death. Luretta was the 6th of 9 children. Four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Luretta received her education in Jefferson County, Ladd Arkansas school system. She accepted Christ as her savior at an early age, under the leadership of Rev. Cleveland Walker at Derriseaux M.B. Church. She was a member until she moved to Kansas City, Missouri She united with several churches throughout the years. Her last church was Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor B.W. Rucker. Where she was a faithful member, Sunday School Teacher, and President of the Mother’s Board until her health failed. Luretta’s vocation was in the culinary field, she worked as an assistant chef at Heart of America for many years before moving to Chef at Annie Santa Fe, where she worked until she retired. Luretta loved living in Kansas City, she was a women of sophistication, the way she dressed, spoke and kept her home. She loved her children. Each one having their own individual talents. Ezell, Michael, Henry, Vickie, Sandra, and K’Lynn. Through her marriage to Robert Davis and Bennie Ford she had two bonus children Marshall (Lisa), and Bennie Ford Jr. Luretta had two husbands Bennie Ford and Robert Davis, one son (Ezell) and two grandsons (Kenny and Jonathan) to proceed her in death. On July 27, 2024 under the loving watch of Hospice staff Luretta closed her eyes and open them to a new home. Luretta leaves to cherish her memory three sons Henry, Michael, and K’Lynn. two daughters Vickie and Sandra: her bonus sons Marshall (Lisa), and Bennie Jr.; two sisters Ernestine Derden and Josiephene Jones of Chicago, IL, and one special cousin, Louise Stanford, 17 Grandchildren, 27 Great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, many special nieces, nephews, church family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, 10:30am at Lawrence A. Jones Funeral Chapel. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation from 9am-10:30am at the chapel. Services conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolence may be shared on our website.
