Obituary Lee Ernest Burns Jr. was born in Magnolia, Arkansas on December 27, 1933 to the union of Jessie Lee Walker and Lee Ernest Burns. His Mother, Father, Mother in Love Marget Parker, Father in Love CP Parker, Sister Myrna Pearson, 3 Brothers Yul Pearson, Lester Pearson, Lynn Pearson, Brothers in love Robert Ellis and CP Parker Jr, Wife Annie Mary Burns, Son Florentino F Burns Sr. and Grandson David E. Biggins Jr. all preceded Him in death. Pastor Burns relocated to Kansas City, Kansas at 3 years old with his Grandmother where he received his education and graduated from Sumner High School Class of 1952. Pastor Burns went away to the United States Airforce and upon return he met the love of his life, Annie Mary Parker, on a blind date. Little did the two know that this was going to be a match made in heaven. Pastor Burns has worked in various jobs, Jensen Salsbery Laboratory, Owens Corning, Burns Security, Above and Beyond Home Health just to name a few. His favorite jobs,however, did not afford a paycheck! He enjoyed his volunteer hours with the MIssouri Department of Mental Health where he escorted patients to their appointments and helped them be able to remain living independently. He enjoyed doing work in the Beacon Hill Community where he served 2 terms as President, He enjoyed being Pastor of Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church for 22 years until he Retired He enjoyed being President of the MIdwest District Association Congress of Christian Education. He enjoyed working as Moderator of the MIdwest District Missionary Baptist Association. He enjoyed his work with the Laymen and the Baptist Ministers Union. He enjoyed attending and working with Western Baptist Bible College. On April 7, 2002 Pastor Burns was Honored at Kansas City Missouri’s Twelfth Annual Kindest Kansas Citian Awards Banquet. He was honored for his friendly spirit that he shared with all. Now they may not have known at the time but we all know that, that was the love of Jesus that lives on the inside of him. Pastor Emeritus Lee E Burns Jr., loved God, His Wife Annie Burns, our entire Family, Church Families and All of his sons in the Gospel. He leaves to mourn his physical death His Son Richard (Anita), Daughters Andromeda (Walter), Felicia (Pastor Elliott Tyler). Brothers Robert Pearson, Joseph Burns, Andrew Parker, Willie (Elise) Parker, Steve Parker, Jimmie Parker, George Parker, Sisters Betty Walls, Shirley Pearson, Alice Greene, and Debbie (Michael) Townsend. Grand children Laquisha, Richetta, Essence, Shaunta, Richard Jr., Mada Noel, OlaNeke, Marlon, Charles, Lee, Florentino Jr., Lorenzo, Makyla, Robert, Ashley, Trevor and Jacob Private Visitation & Funeral Services will be held for 10 designated family members at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 17, 2020 at Lawrence A.
