Mr. Kevin Kimbrough

Kevin Javon Kimbrough was born December 23, 2003, to Janay Sonnier McCray and Kevin R. Kimbrough, At Research Medical Hospital Kansas City Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parental grandfather, Kenneth Kimbrough Sr.; maternal great grandparents, Fred & Lorene Sonnier & Rev Daniel & Virginia Childs Of KCMO; one aunt Sharon Kimbrough of KCKS; four great uncles, Andre Sonnier, Kelvin, Michael, & Stanley Childs, all of KCMO; one second cousin, Jay’Samon Jones of KCMO.Kevy Kev, KJ, K J-Jizzle, Kages, Nephew, Cousin, Brother, and Son... You Were To The World. Kevin was born unique and special; he came out his mother womb with a headache. Kevin Javon Kimbrough was educated in the public schools of KCMO. He also attended Center Elementary and later Brookside Charter School, as a Brookside Bear, he played basketball until his 8th grade graduation.In “KJ’s” earlier days he loved basketball, Marvel movies, hanging with his cousin Steven, and spending time with his bonus family Ollie, Jessica,and Wayne Shawn Drew. As “KJ” grew older, he loved music, Quando Rondo was his favorite rapper. “KJ” even learned and loved to ride the Metro to his Uncle “Red’s” house. “KJ” was a very humble child with an infectious smile, however, in 2020 he experienced drastic life changes, but his family never gave up on him. “KJ” was well loved with a wonderful support system.He will be tremendously missed by all who loved him. He Leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother Janay Sonnier McCray (Robert ) of KCMO; father Kevin R. Kimbrough of Leavenworth, KS; two brothers, Andre J Sonnier & Collin J Landis; grandfather, Fredrick Sonnier of KCMO; Grandmothers, Doris Kimbrough of KCKS and Karen M. Sonnier of KCMO. He also leaves four aunts, Nicole Childs & Shauntel Sonnier of KCMO; Monique & Saunerra Kimbrough of KCKS; six uncles, Ricky & De’Andre Sonnier of KCMO, Kenneth Jr., Keith, Karl, & Kent Kimbrough of KCKS; four stepsisters, Antionette Gray, Sierra McCray, Ayshia Harris & Aishlee McCray; a host of nieces, nephews, great uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends who all loved him dearly. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023, 11am at Fellowship Right MBC. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10am-11am at the church.
