Obituary PASTOR KENNETH TYRONE GRAY Kenneth Tyrone Gray (Paw-Paw) was the baby of eight children born to the union of Norris Sr. and Maxine Gray, on April 23 1964. Both parents, paternal and maternal grandparents, two sisters, Joyce Jones and Sharron and one brother Norris, Jr. preceded him in death. Kennie was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri School District, attending Phyllis Wheatley Elementary and Lincoln High Schools. Kenneth obtained his GED while serving in the U.S. Army from 1981-1984. Later he continued his education by obtaining a degree in Human Services at Longview Community College and a Certificates in Drug Counseling and Mental Health. Kennie also received his degree in Evangelical Training from Carver Baptist Bible College Institute and Theological Seminary on May 23, 2006. Kennie was actively involved in many community activities, a member of the Marching Cobras, as well as having received many awards and trophies for excellence in football and basketball at Minute Circle Friendly House, Street Academy, and Start Athlete. Kennie was a T-Ball coach for “His” Angels for twelve years. He was employed with Sears, Boys & Girls Club, Counselor for Scott Greening and My House. In 2007, Pastor Kennie joined the staff of Macedonia Baptist Church in the Building & Grounds Ministry, until his health declined. Pastor Kennie departed this life on October 6, 2019 surrounded by his wife, Carol of fifteen years, and love of his life, granddaughter Jiavonna Allison. Precious Memories He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Carol; two daughters, Kylie Davis and Angel Gray of Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters Ada Gray of Los Angeles, California, Jackie Coolidge (John) of Kansas City, Kansas and Linda Carter (Rick) of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother, Ronnie Gray of Kansas City, Missouri; sister-in-law, Connie Williams and brother-in-law, Ray Foster; two special aunts, Bennie Owens of Minnesota and Mrs. Ruth Robinson of Olathe, Kansas; lifelong buddy, Kelly Evans and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and his Macedonia Baptist Church Family. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Macedonia Baptist Church 1700 East Linwood Blvd. Kansas City, Missouri 64109. Visitation 9:00 a.m. Private disposition.
