Mrs. Juanda Henderson

Obituary Juanda Lene Young Henderson was the eighth born of nine children to the late Reverend Harold C. Sr., and Elizabeth D. Young in Kansas City, Kansas. Juanda was preceded in death by Doris E. Young, Harold C. Young, Jr., Virginia Cutchlow, Felix L. Young, David J. Young, Verdis J. Robinson, and Marcia P. Coggs. Juanda attended Kealing, Dunbar, Northeast Jr. and graduated in May 1954 from Sumner High. She also attended Kansas City Kansas Community College. February 4, 1955 Juanda was united in holy matrimony to Wendell L. R. Henderson. They were blessed to celebrate their 50th Anniversary in 2005. They were married for sixty-six years eleven months and twenty-two days. During Juanda’s time at Sumner, she was a Majorette for four years. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scout Troup 304 at the Olivet Baptist Church for three and half years. Juanda started working at D. J. Young Publishing Company at an early age where she helped with getting Sunday School Literature throughout the nation. Her work history includes working in the medical field with Dr. Love and Dr. Gamble as a Medical Assistant. In later years, she worked at the Kansas City, Kansas CODE Enforcement Department upon retiring. Juanda worked diligently with the Kansas East Sunshine Band. Also helped register state delegates for the Kansas East Convocation. Mother Juanda Henderson was a faithful and diligent worker in the church. She attended and was a lifelong member of Young Memorial Church Of God In Christ and worked in many capacities within the church. Juanda leaves to mourn in her loss, husband, Wendell L. R. of the home; one brother, Samuel M. Young; sons, Wendell N. (Patricia), Broderick T., Marco D., Terrence L. (Tamika) and Ronald; daughters, Johndalyn E. Henderson-Holly and Angela Davis; five grandchildren, Donald Henderson, Jr., Juanda S. Henderson, Marisah Henderson, Michael Alexander, Terrance Henderson, II; five great grandchildren, Kameron, Kijana, Kharma, Santana, Kharma; two great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Miracle Temple COGIC., KS. Interment Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10am-12pm at the church.
