JOSEPH LEE WHITE

Obituary Joseph Lee White, 82 of Kansas City, Missouri died at St. Luke’s hospital, July 26, 2020 surrounded in love. Joe was born July 9, 1937 in Glasow, Missouri to Corean (Jones) and Eugene White. Joe attended Vocational High School in Dalton, Missouri in 1955. He attended Lincoln University, majoring in Agriculture and Central Missouri State College in Business Management. Joe joined the United State Armed Forces in 1961 to 1964. Joe White worked at JC Penney furniture for many years located at the old Blue Ridge Mall where Walmart now resides. Joe was also employed with Blue River Parks & Recreation as a manager, until he retired from the workforce. Joe was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church of Kansas City for over 50 years. Joe enjoyed golf, family, and cooking. Joe was very health conscience when it came to what he ate over the years. He was truly a man of God, joyful, wise, giving, stand up and a honorable person. Joe would give strong, strong encouraging words to all who needed it. Often Joe would be one of the parents that accompanied Rick’s class on several field trips and if another child was out of place, Joe didn’t mind discipling that child by shouted out a firm “hey you’re not gonna act like that”. Joe was a parent that did not mind taking the football and baseball teams in his truck to several games. Joe was ready to see the Lord, One month ago he spoke these words to Richard “ I’ve lived a good life and when I go, be strong. Take care of your family and be strong. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Corean & Eugene White . His siblings, Evelyn Brown, Edna Prince, Matthew White, Ella Mae Cason and Levi White and Eugene White Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory Richard White the only son & his grandchildren : Trekalah Breakfiled, Riquea White, Ricquelle White, Marek Davis, Armani White and Joseph White, His brother Nicholas White, Donald White, Sisters; Mary Catherine Moore and Acenia Flowers and host of cousins, nieces, nephew and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 12:30P.M. on Friday, August 7th at Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Linwood Chapel. Visitation 11:00 A.M. Interment Forest Hill & Calvary Cemetery.
