GuyAnne V Wilkins

Obituary GuyAnne Vera Wilkins, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend was born July 31, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the second child of Macabee and Grace Weaver, who preceded her in death. GuyAnne’s formal education was with the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools, USD 500. She attended Dunbar Elementary, Northeast Junior High School and graduated from Sumner High School in 1963. She pursued a high level of learning by furthering her educational goal by attending Donnelly College, Kansas City, Kansas. GuyAnne was blessed with a devoted daughter, Vonda. GuyAnne and Vonda shared a special mother and daughter bond! After meeting the love of her life, GuyAnne was united in holy matrimony with David Wilkins, who preceded her in death. To this union, two sons were born, Michael and Eric. The Wilkins became a blended family exhibiting love, unity, and respect. GuyAnne was employed by Hallmark Cards and The Social Security Administration. She retired early due to her illness. GuyAnne confessed Christ and joined Eight Street Baptist Church. Later, she united with the Bethel Baptist Church, pastored Rev R.C. Higgs. She served faithfully with the Joy Circle, Bible Study, Sunday School, Culinary Arts, and was a member of the Choir. Her pride was in being a “Fifty Plus Member” of Bethel Church. John 9:4 states “I must work the works of him that sent me, while its day, the night cometh, when no man can work,” is a true scripture acknowledging her church participation. Loving memories will be cherished by her children, Vonda Thomas (Terrell), Snellville, GA.; Michael Wilkins (LaSonya), Capitol Heights, MD.; and Eric Wilkins of Kansas City, Ks. Five Grandchildren, Eva, Jade, Erick, Terrell, and Robin, two sisters-in-law, Lummie Haynes and Erma Dickerson, three brothers-in-law, Henry Lee Wilkins, J.C. Wilkins and Johnny Wilkins.
