Mrs. Geraldine Rockett

Geraldine Rockett, passed away on June 24, 2026, at Ignite Medical Resort. Geraldine “Geri” Perine Rockett was born July 12,1944 to the union of Effie Miller Perine and Anderson Perine in Memphis, Tennessee. At the age of 41/2 the family moved to Saginaw, Michigan where she accepted Christ at the age of 6 and belonged to Tabernacle Baptist Church where she played the piano for Sunday School, sang in the Junior Choir and belonged to the Junior Usher Board. She graduated from Saginaw High School in 1962. Geraldine relocated to Kansas City, Missouri in 1962 and married her high school sweetheart, Lee Porter Rockett, Sr. on December 29,1962. The couple celebrated 63 years of marriage until his death in 2025. To this union three children were born, Rolonda Renee Rockett-Richardson, Lee Porter Rockett, Jr. and Belinda Marie Rockett. Geraldine united with the Fellowship Baptist Church in 1971 where she was active in Sunday School and a member of the Sisterhood Mission, until she helped form and oversee the Young Adult Women’s Society (YAWS) which later became Sisters in Spirit. She was an active member of the Ladies of Faith Mission, a member of the Adult Usher Board of which she was Director and Overseer of the Young Adult Usher Board. She was also active with the Sisterhood birthday club. Geraldine became employed with the Missouri Division of Family Services in 1965 working her way up the ladder and was a Caseworker until her retirement in 1993. After retirement, she served over ten years as the President of the Association of Missouri Retired State Employees (ARMSE) and this group met bi-monthly for their luncheon meetings. Geraldine’s hobbies included sewing, shopping, cooking, swimming, bowling, traveling and she loved plants and flowers. She was known for her sense of style and sassy attitude. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be truly missed by all that knew and loved her. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Anderson and Effie Perine, brother Oscar Chambers, sisters Wanda Willis and Ivy Miller, son Lee P. Rockett, Jr., daughter Belinda Marie Rockett, granddaughter’s Krystal Rockett and Diamond Rockett. Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Renee Richardson (Marvin), Grandview, MO, granddaughter Starlette Rockett-Fry (Will), Belton, MO, daughter-in-law, Lisa Rockett, Grandview, MO, sister Debra Combs, Grand Rapids, MI, sister-in-law’s Jerry Moore (Glenn), Saginaw, MI, LeSenda Womack, Concord, CA, an Aunt, Kaye Perine of Atlanta, GA, 5 great-grandchildren, ToMeaJoy Rockett, William (Trey) Hill of Grandview, MO, Major Brooks, Rockett, Brooks, Legend Brooks of Belton, MO. A special sister-friend, Versa Fields, special niece, Vernita Williams and special nephew, Twydell Love, Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday July 18, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church. Interment: Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation: 9 - 11:00 a.m. at the Church.
