Gary Wayne Powell Sunrise: September 4, 1940 - Sunset: June 7, 2024 Gary was born in Leavenworth Kansas. He enjoyed singing and traveling with some of his friends in a band. Gary moved to Kansas City, Mo in 1963 where he worked various jobs...cooking. From Schools to Nursing Homes. He enjoyed cooking. In 1986 Gary met Beverly Anderson (2 children). They were married in 1990, under Rev. CE McLain of Friendship Baptist Church, where Gary sang in the Men's choir. Outside of Cooking & Singing, he enjoyed the Out Doors & Dancing. His favorite colors were Blue and Grey. Gary went peacefully in the privacy of his home, asleep in his bed. Gary was preceded in death by: his father James William Powell, mother Mamie L. Powell. Brothers: Edward Briggs, James (Jim) W. Powell, Richard Powell, Gilbert (Ramadan) Powell and Sister: Loretta Whiting. Gary is survived by his Wife of 33years: Beverly Ann Powell Sister: Linda Harbin Daughters: Teresa Powell (2 daughters) Ebony Martrel (1 daughter & 3 sons) Monique Hoevelmann (John) (3 sons) Sons: Dwayne Powell Anthony Powell (3 daughters) Dean Anderson (2 daughters) Total of 14 Grand Children; Lots of Great-grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews, Cousins, Family & Friends.
